Round table discussion: do we really need money?
Tonight's show is a round table discussion conducted at Rudolf Steiner House in Sydney.
Do we need money? Is economic competition healthy or unhealthy? How should we organise society? These perennial questions are finally answered in tonight's show!
Our guests tonight are:
- Darrell Wheeler from the Social Threefolding Organisation
- Chris Wilkins from Zeitgeist Australia
- Lisa Devine from Anthroposophy in Australia
- Truth News co-anchor Josh Jackson
This is the third (and last) in our series on Building a Creative Economy.
Coincidentally, there is a newly released rap news video from thejuicemedia.com which covers some of the topics which we addressed in this show.
Building a Creative Economy
Tonight I am joined by Karla Cryer and Thuy Lee, who are organisers for a conference to be held in Balmain, Sydney on 29th October, titled "Building a Creative Economy".
From the website:
International, National and Local organisations and speakers explore economic alternatives that could benefit and support a much wider social spectrum and the environment. These approaches could lead towards a more just and sustainable world.
During the interview Karla explains some of the ideas of Rudolf Steiner, with an empahsis on the concept of "Social Threefolding", which is defined in wikipedia as:
...a sociological theory that suggests increasing the independence of society's three primary realms (economy, politics and culture) in such a way that those three realms can mutually correct each other in an ongoing process. The movement aims for equality of rights in political life, freedom in cultural life, and associative cooperation in economic life.
